I am sure it was balanced since it was a Repub town hall. I am sure she did not need help she can just ask God for the answer since he talks to her. I hope she does not have God will another war or Jihad.

SHE REALIZED SHE´s RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. FINALLY... grrrrrrr....
I wonder what will become of America with her taking over in case of death or illness of the President.

Will it be an administration of secrecy, deceit, manipulation, abuse, and lies, the way she ran her political careeer and campaign ????

God forbid, NOT THIS PALIN WOMAN EVER !!!!!!
Each time I read something about her, it destroys my day.

She was in Bland, er, Grand Rapids - the Republican bastion of Michigan. Send her over to an auto plant in Detroit to take questions.

Town Hall meetings are fixed questions and produced by the republican party.
Why is this not the story behind the story. Sarah Palin cannot answer a
question shot at her without giving a speech line, she repeats the same
lines over and over. Oblivious to the campaign they are not fooling the
majority of Americans.I am republican, American first. The fact they cannot
defend the president or include him shows a lack of loyalty, so why should I
    be loyal? I vote Obahma/Biden 2008

She took them, but never really answered them. The Republicans always defend her and play defense. If you are so positive about your candidates, do not compare what the other party ticket lacks, argue your point of how your candidate is "right for the job."

OMG!! I have to agree with you Marquita.

The questions may have been asked, but she still has not answered them. It's almost like a 5 year old trying to act all grownup. I'm sorry, but this is my opinon, and I'm just shocked on how she never responds to direct questions specifically. She seems to always go off on her little "talkies". OMG!! What in the heck is going on here???

Come on Sarah please, perception is everything! That is MY opinion.

Wow - I don't even know what to say. It's just getting silly now (if only it weren't real). She watched SNL with the volume off ... okay. Like she couldn't find five minutes to watch it online. Please! My six-year-old can come up with better lies than this.

I know, I know ... I'm just scared because she's so smart and sexy.

        Two things:

        1) If it is true that Ms Palin had the sound off when she watched Tina Fey, (and I tend to disbelieve her for some reason), she missed the essence of the entire skit. It was the VOICE that was "spot on."

        2) So she's finally "READY" for questions? Great! How about talking to the media, like all the other candidates do? Come out, come out, wherever you're HIDING! What are you afraid of?

From this story, it seems to me that the wonderful citizens of Grand Rapids were really just having a meet & greet. If the answers or comments that McCain & Palin gave them were sufficient to calm their fears about qualifications and experience, they must've drank the kool-aid.

What cleverly slanted language. Using terms like "cloistered" and "butted in" this reporter obviously has a real brain-washing agenda. They might as well just say "we want your vote for Obama!" Great way to put a negative spin right from the start.
Way to go MSNBC! Show us more fair and unbiased reporting!

I've been undecided, but since the press keeps inventing ways to make Palin seem out of touch, I'm inclined to vote for McCain (and I don't even like him) because the brainwash technique offends me more.

Yes, and McCain thinks all women are as dumb as his wife and will just vote for Palin because she has ovaries. If Palin doesn't mind being used because of her sex that is her business but I want a woman in office who will make me proud and not shudder every time she opens her mouth. Also, I think it's funny what a HUGE controversy was made over Hillary's comments about visiting Bosnia under gunfire (at least she went) and Palin really hasn't taken any flack for outright lying about going to Iraq.

                Enough! from MI

As for here in GR - perhaps it wasn't quite the folksy town hall meeting it would appear. As in a gathering of common folk, concerned citizens, the general public, and, especially not those who are undecided. Nope. Not invited. What we saw here was a hand-picked crowd and very possibly prescreened questions. (I'm John McCain and I approved this message?)
It was reported that nearly 4,000 attended. Wouldn't surprise me to hear it was half that, in reality. Ooops! That doesn't seem to be something the Republicans in their parallel universe actually deal with. Ahh, the Republican rhetoric. Funny (yet somehow I am far from amused) how they lie through their teeth and the local news shows a bedazzled female gush about Palin, "she's a woman of integrity". Integrity? How could anyone use integrity and Palin in the same sentence without having been in a coma for the past 3 weeks? Integrity? Not according to Webster. I am more amazed each day by the unfolding of shall we just call it Palingate and hearing McCain either flip-flop, cover-up, lie or lay claim to Obama's 'catchwords'. I am incredulous to think anyone in their right mind would believe anything either of them would purport to do for the average American.
One thing that did impress me: turns out there are plenty of protestors here in my town, who also showed up. And good 'ol McCain's reaction to some of the shouted protests about jobs and the local economy? "That's crazy". How silly of us.

Does Palin think that we're all so stupid that when she says things like I've been to Iraq or I've visited Ireland or I ended the bridge to nowhere that we'll never find out. that she's lying? She is either truly very dumb or her ego is so large she thinks she can pull off this kind of deception.

Yes, I certainly feel safe after 8 years of Republican rule. Our jobs are likely to be shipped overseas. Our banks and insurance companies failing and being bailed out by the government. Our debts owed to Communist China. Our borders completely open to guns, drugs, and as many immigrants as can fix into a truck bed every couple of minutes. Our military strapped to the breaking point. Not to mention tainted food, lead painted toys, and drugs not properly tested. This President's complete inadequacy has emboldening our enemies. Yep, 4 more years of McSame sounds great! You've got to be insane. For once trying choosing your countries best interest above your party.

Maybe when the next bank fails Cindy can loan them the money? Or better yet, maybe they can sell one of their 5 (or is it 7) houses to pay for it? A laugh a minute with this group. I dislike strongly her use of "let's prove them wrong" saying she can be a good mother to 5 children and be Vice President. I'm a mother of 2 and it's a full time job in and of itself. I've stayed home for the past year but I also worked full time when I had my first daughter. You can not take on a job that is 24/7 and be a good mother. If she had to travel for weeks on end during a crisis who would care for her small children (and her baby)? Parenting is not just about giving birth to a child but being around to provide love, help and guidance. That can't be done if you aren't there. And don't give me the SUPER MOM crap because this isn't a 9-5 or even 9-9 job. This job requires a person who can give it their full attention. I respect Michelle for leaving her job to make sure the Obama children were cared for while her husband has to travel so much. From what I"ve read Palin's husband get quite involved in her government work (which I don't like) and is with her much of the time. So who takes care of their kids?

why is she only talking to Fox/Hannity?:

Could it be that they are GREAT AMERICANS?.......HA, yeah right!

                                              Brainwashing takes time....

I do love the Republican cover story for hiding Palin: Rick Davis, campaign manager for Sen. John McCain, told Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace that McCain running mate Gov. Sarah Palin won't subject herself to any tough questions from reporters "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference." (or until the Brainwashing in completed).

Just tell us the truth, Palin is NOT ready!

I've heard enough truth stretching from Palin/McCain this week.......the next thing you're going to tell me is that McCain invented the Blackberry.

You criticize the first term Senator for "lack of experience" and say nothing of the first term Governor and her inability to explain the Bush Doctrine. You talk about "Keep America safe." Now that's IRONY.

We're all too similar with the ill- prepared candidate who steps out to give a speech and ends up blurting........ Vote McCain/Palin!

All of you disgruntled Dems sound impressed and afraid of one little lady, who happens to be a progressive, productive and presentable person of higher iq than most of you sound.
You ought to take the stance of your dem family up here in Alaska. Lay low if you do not have any kind words for one in power, lest when you need the help of that power you are ignored.

Your critical 'bar-room' talk sounds just that, without any substance and facts, and sounding more like 'warmed over' comments of the liberal press.

We actually question things outside the State of Alaska.

We don't just,"Lay low if you do not have any kind words for one in power, lest when you need the help of that power you are ignored." as YOU put it. We speak our peace and vote our conscience.

We believe that when you tell us the story, that it is the truth and the whole story:

Palin says Alaska supplies 20 percent of U.S. energy. Not true. Not even close.

The jet was placed on eBay for sale, but it wasn't purchased from the site. The plane was eventually sold through an aircraft broker to businessman Larry Reynolds for less than the asking price and the original cost.

Palin may have said "Thanks, but no thanks" on the Bridge to Nowhere, though not until Congress had pretty much killed it already. But that was a sharp turnaround from the position she took during her gubernatorial campaign, and the town where she was mayor received lots of earmarks during her tenure.

Going to Iraq. Ireland? Please! I think you actually have to step on the ground.

Palin talked about standing up to oil companies and oil lobbyists, citing her work on getting a gas pipeline built in Alaska: Actually, construction hasn't begun on the pipeline, and the project isn't quite a done deal.

And repeating these lies over and over again after they are debunk doesn't make them true either. That is the "substance and facts" and if YOU actually "Read the printed material with an open mind and you will see some fact and truth to help you make an informed decision. (if you are an adult!).

Put the kool-aid cup down for a moment and breathe. We don't know Palin like YOU do, but we are quickly understanding that we have to read between the lines with her.

The party of personal responsibility, remember? Why they keep voting against their own best economic interests is beyond my comprehension.

Aren't they supposed to be about our security and fighting terrosist? No, they spent time talking about high school basketball championships ( palin won one in Alasksa, by the way Obama won one in Hawaii). When are they gonna stop the biography and rhetoric and answer some real questions?

There were no Americans killed or wounded in that attack. That is because we have been protected by taking the war to the perpetrators, whereas we were attacked throughout the 1990s but did nothing leading up to 9/11.
