I'm watching the whole Neighborhood Ball thing right now. The Obamas were just there, and it is really pretty cool.

It is cool.  I'm on overload from all the coverage today and not exactly sure how I'm going to sleep tonight.  But I do know I will be waking up with a huge smile on my face tomorrow!!

They looked amazing. President Obama was wiggling and sidestepping; I was like "get it Obama!" lol. Michelle was absolutely stunning. When she came out, I was dumbfounded.

So they still have "balls" nowadays?  They are still calling them that?  Hmmm.  Just seems dated, but whatever floats you boat right?

Reminds me of that AC/DC song...hehe

It's too bad that Ms. Carey only hit about 10% of her notes on key...if she were on American Idol, Simon would've given her a verbal flogging.  Quick, somebody put a plugin on her voice!

Obama's dancing skills are bad but that probably comes from his hidden white half.

I was surprised that Michelle couldn't dance either but that was probably because of her dress.

I am having the time of my life watching this day unfold on tv and on this little computer. Life is great!

The first couple are absolutely charming appearing and dancing at all the balls. They do get it and that is so exciting. This is definitely a new day.

I do think the President is having issues with "the dress" while dancing with the First (very beautiful) Lady. We'll see.

I am glad that the primitive anti-Obama smear did not find a platform here. Anybody watching the inauguration could clearly see that it was the wish of the people to celebrate this event.  The critic on the Obamas celbrating with the people is totally inapropriate.

                                God bless America

The percentage of American citizens who supported Obama was, I believe 52%. While this was an electoral majority it is a very thin popular majority. Old enough, probably the majority of the people you hang with were pro Obama, but 46% of the population voted for John McCain. It would be more unifying, if they were not referred to as being "stuck on stupid" or "left behind."  In addition, just because a person questions a president, does not make them a "hater." It makes them a thoughtful citizen, unwilling to drink kool aid, and wanting to have a full transparent government. All citizens have a part in the work to be done, which includes not just falling for fancy rhetoric, but  holding their government accountable. Should we tell you to go back to your "yessir" enclave? No. We are all essential.

In my house we celebrated twice, once because NUMBER 43 was GONE, GONE, GONE and the second because number 44 was finally there. To the person who commented on the "no kiss" part, it was because Michelle did not want her lipstick smudged (I know I don 't) and not because she does not love Obama AND I have never, ever seen so much REPECT come from two married people. Notice how Obama asked the crowd how nice Mrs. Obama looked. Most men never remember that there may be TWO people invovled in the marriage and "business". Here is to better days in the U.S.A. and a much happier 2009.

Did the Obama's dance to At Last at each ball?

Yes they did,I really enjoyed the song a beautiful classic from Etta James.I prefered that over today's indrustial music any day it's all about what's in and not about real music.

too bad Etta James wasn't asked to sing instead of slutty Beyonce

What about the comments made last night when they asked David Goodfriend, on MSNBC, what his thought were after the inaugural ball.  "...my thoughts and other parts of my anatomy go out to Michelle Obama and I think she held up beautifully and looks gorgeous."
A comment like this to our brand new first lady?  I can't be the only one that heard this and thought it was inappropriate.

I agree, that comment was inappropriate and ridiculous. Why are we still hearing garbage like this about our female public figures?
